Keep the sound roof
A defined repair works when the surrounding deck, covering and transitions can support it.

Explore metal roof construction, repair needs and the choices behind a replacement.
Standing-seam panels conceal their primary fasteners beneath seams, while other systems use exposed fasteners. Panel profile, fastening and movement details shape the roof’s behavior. A metal shingle or tile profile is a different assembly from broad standing-seam panels.

Fasteners, seams and penetrations need compatible details. Thermal movement has to be accommodated without loosening connections or trapping water. A patch or coating has to suit the metal and existing finish; it cannot correct a poor transition or a failed substrate beneath it.

Deck condition, underlayment, slope, roof geometry, attachment and edge details belong in the material discussion. Weight, appearance and manufacturer requirements vary by product. Metal has no supported rate in our asphalt calculator; this system needs its own measured scope.
